Appointment Scheduling

If your child is in need of an appointment you can easily get in touch with us to schedule. You can reach us by phone, submitting an online form, or submitting an appointment request directly from your child’s patient portal account.

Same Day Sick Visits

      2. We occasionally experience high call volumes. If you receive a voicemail please leave us a message and your call will be returned within 5-15 minutes. We will return your calls in the order that they are received. When necessary we will triage appointment voicemails returning emergency and sick visit calls first.

  3. We do NOT have walk-in hours. Please call in advance so that we may accommodate you as well as our other patients.
  4. We ask that if you schedule an appointment same-day that you avoid canceling.
Book Online- Acute Sick Visit

Well Child Examinations, Follow-ups, Pre-Op, Medication Checks

  1. If your child needs a non-urgent appointment, please log in to their patient portal and request an appointment.
    1. Please provide us with the days/times/provider that you prefer. Within 24 business hours, we will contact you with available dates and times based on the preferences you provided.

Saturday Appointments

Phone lines open at 7:30 am and at Potomac Pediatrics we see patients between 8am-12pm. Because we operate with a limited schedule we may require that you speak with our triage nurse for scheduling. Illness within our community fluctuates and because of that, it is often unpredictable when we will experience an increase in appointment demand. If your child is sick we ask that you please do not wait until Saturday morning to call for a same-day appointment. We offer same-day appointments throughout the week and would like to get your child feeling better as soon as possible! If your child needs an appointment after 12pm, we encourage you to self schedule an appointment in POP NOW.

Late Arrivals & Missed Appointments

If you arrive for your appointment time more than 10 minutes late, there is a chance that we will not be able to accommodate you. This is not a "grace period" as we expect all patients to be on time for their appointments. If you are running late please call us ahead of time so we can determine if your child can still be seen despite a late arrival, or if it is necessary for us to reschedule your appointment to a later time or another day.

Appointments that are canceled less than 24 hours in advance or that are no-showed are subject to a missed appointment/late cancellation fee. You can view these fees by visiting our financial policies page. Patients who have an excessive amount of late arrivals, missed appointments, or combination of the two will be subject to discharge from the practice.
