Introduce allergens in a controlled environment under the supervision of one of our experienced triage nurses at one of our upcoming Peanut Butter Parties!

In the unlikely event that your child has a reaction, our nurses will evaluate and treat your child if necessary and provide guidance for home monitoring

Recent studies suggest the early allergen introduction is very importance for food allergy prevention.  We recommend that all babies be exposure to common food allergens around 6 months of age! 

Please bring your own food and feeding supplies to the party

Is this class right for my baby?

This class is recommended for babies meeting the following criteria:

  • NO KNOWN FOOD ALLERGIES OR PREVIOUS REACTIONS
    • This class is for first time allergen introduction, only.  If your baby has reacted to an allergen in the past, please contact your pediatrician about next steps.
    • If your child has moderate/severe eczema or strong family history of food allergy please email advicenurse@potomacpediatrics prior to registering
  • Age 4 – 9 month
  • Eating pureed food regularly
  • Patient of Potomac Pediatrics

Can I give other allergenic foods during the party?

Yes! You may bring and introduce any of the major food allergens.  The most commons allergenic foods include:

  • Peanut
  • Tree nuts
  • Egg
  • Dairy
  • Soy
  • Sesame
  • Wheat

 

How do I sign up?

  • Click on one of the upcoming class dates below
    • Only purchase 1 ticket per parent/baby
    • Limited spots available! 
  • Bring your own allergen and feeding supplies with you to the party
  • Peanut Butter Parties are FREE for families that have paid their Non-Covered Services Fee and $40 for those that opted out to be a-la-carte 
  • No shows and failure to cancel more than 24 hours in advance will result in a $25 no-show fee.
  • If you can’t make the party, you may also make an ‘Allergy Introduction Visit’ in the office with a provider.  This is billed through your insurance, co-pays and deductibles will apply
  • Classes are held in our Third Floor conference room – 15204 Omega Drive, Suite 301
