Prior to most surgeries or procedures under general anesthesia, your child’s surgeon will require a a pre-operative clearance exam. At this visit we will assess your child’s risks for surgery and anesthesia to determine if it is safe to proceed with the procedure.

The timing of this visit will be dictated by your surgeon, but within 7-days of the surgery is usually ideal. 

Most surgeons provide a specific form to be filled out and returned to them. Please bring any paperwork with you to the visit. 

When you call the office to schedule your child’s pre-operative appointment, please have the following information

• Date of surgery
• Type of surgery
• Surgeon
• Surgery location
